A Child From Gaza
Born in a holy land,
Locked up,
deprived of dignity and freedom.
The child wakes up trembling,
Middle of the roar of warplanes and bombs.
The innocent believed human must be holy,
Never thought they are the most sinister.
The child is betrayed, looking at her mother,
Longing for love , shelter and the answers,
Answers of the questions unspoken but in her tired eyes,
Ma, When will peace come so I can sleep by your rhymes?
The Mother has no answer but in tears,
She protects her in her arms easing her fear,
She hopes for the dawn,
The beginning of a new day.
